So I started the book called Tomboy (by Liz Prince) yesterday and I can’t put it down. It’s about a girl who is a huge tomboy and the book is told by her adult self and what her life was like and how she was treated. It’s so good and I can actually relate to it. I would suggest it as a good read for anyone.

The Lumberjanes series written by Noelle Stevenson and Shannon Waters, illustrated by Brook Allen, is very well drawn and unique. The series pulls you in within the first two sentences of the first book and it keeps pulling you in throughout the series. The art style is so cute and adorable. It just makes you want to keep flipping pages. The story line is smooth and it is a normal reading level. The plot is so weird and exclusive that it makes you laugh, but when it ends it leaves you wanting more. I love Noelle Stevenson and her books and illustrations are wonderful. I hope she keeps it up!

I just read the book Drama it was amazing and full of non-stop DRAMA. It’s a good short read, the author is Raina Telgemeier. This book is about a middle school girl named Callie in Drama club that loves theater and they’re making a production of Moon Over Mississippi. She can’t sing so she is on stage crew and this year she’s determined to create a set worthy of Broadway on a middle-school budget. I would recommend this book to middle school students if you like acting and drama this is a great book for you. I liked this book because it was action-packed.

I’ve been reading Attack on Titan Vol. 1 for about a month now, and it is a really great book/manga! It is by Hajime Isayama. The book/manga centers on Eren Yeager, his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and their childhood friend Armin Arlert and how they want to leave the walls and no compared to other parts that is no spoiler.
It is dark fantasy and post-apocalyptic and lots of fighting and action I would definitely recommend this to almost all manga fans because every anime fan and manga fan I know loves it, but I would suggest you get the English version unless you know Japanese.

  6. Pinnapplemomo says:

El Deafo by CeCe Bell is a wonderful Graphic Novel. I really like this book because I like books with problems and solutions. I would recommend this book to people who like graphic novels or realistic fiction. CeCe was diagnosed with meningitis when she was 4. But you need to read the rest to find out all of her other struggles. When I was reading this book it felt like I was in a whole different world.

The book I am going to talk is Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson.
I like the book Calvin and Hobbes because it has comedy and drama. I think people that like comedy and drama would like this book. It came out in 1985 and ended in 1995. The main characters are Calvin and Hobbes. The other characters are Susie, Calvin’s mom and Calvin’s dad. The book is mainly about Calvin and his stuffed animal named Hobbes and they do crazy thing’s together like drive off of cliffs in a wagon and they try to go to other states by walking and Calvin sometimes gets involved with the police.

  8. Zeldafan101 says:

Calvin and Hobbes is a comic series made by Bill Waterson that ran through 1985-1995. The comic series is about a boy named Calvin who has a stuffed tiger named Hobbes who is real but only to Calvin. The series has comedy and has some sad moments. The main characters are Calvin, Hobbes, Calvin’s parents and some kids at school. The comics are really imaginative whether they are going on a adventure on riding their wagon down a hill. Calvin and Hobbes can be really funny and most books fail to make me laugh. I suggest anyone who is looking for a laugh or for some imaginative fun then you should definitely read Calvin and Hobbes.

    • luke_the_reader81 says:

Hmm, I would probably try “Amulet: The Stonekeeper” from Kazu Kibuishi. I haven’t read it, but I’ve heard good things about it from previous class book reports.

  10. speedreader135 says:

The book I read this quarter is Anya’s Ghost and it’s a graphic novel by Vera Brosgol.
I read this many times because it is so amazing. It’s about a girl name Anya. She started with a normal but teenage life and things got a little weird. Anya fell into a well, hitting her head against the stone wall, Then she found a skeleton lying there in the well. It looked as if it had been laying there for years. Anya thought it was not alive, but a ghost appeared. It was a girl called Emily, and she told how she had been murdered by her soon to be husband. Her friend had invited her to a party. Soon after, Emily became really different. Read the book to find out what happened.
I recommend it to people who like mysteries, and supernatural things.
I don’t recommend it to people that don’t like bad words in the book. It was a good book, not too long a graphic novel. Enjoy the reading! 😀

  12. Elisabeth. S says:

The book I read this quarter is called A Wrinkle in Time which is a graphic novel by Hope Larson. I think it’s an amazing book. It’s about a teenage girl named Meg Murry, her little three year old brother Charles Wallace, and one of her friends that she just meant. Meg is an amazing character and has a lot of intelligence along with Charles who is smarter then Meg. There on a mission to find their Father who went to work for the Government and never came back. So they decided to go look for him, on their way there Meg meets a boy who went to the same school as Meg. So he came along with Meg, and Charles Wallace in search for their Father, they also had some help from one of Charles Wallace elderly friends. I recommend this book to people who like adventure, and graphic novels. That is all for the book I read this quarter.

  13. misshunt says:

The book I read is called “El Deafo”. The author is Cece Bell. This book is a graphic novel and it is about a family of bunnies but it is mostly about, Cece, the main character. She goes deaf in the beginning of the book and her new friends at school don’t accept her the way she is. There is really only one friend she has at a time. As the book goes on she needs glasses and she is sort of embarrassed. And then a new neighbor (a boy) moves in and Cece has a new crush. In the book there are random times where she pretends she is a superhero in her mind and she names herself El Deafo. When there are problems in the book and she fixes them when she is a “superhero”. I like this book because it is about a family of bunnies that have human traits but other than that it is realistic fiction, I really like realistic fiction. I would recommend this book for any gender, but I think it is more of a girly book. I think that if you like realistic fiction but also a little bit of fantasy this would be a great book for you. I also think that if you like a short graphic novel that is an easy read this book would be a great fit for you!

Review for Nimonia by Noelle Stevenson.

This girl is a villain sidekick and she tries defeat Sir Goldenloin and so when she helps she does not do a great job.
She is a shape sifter and she helps makes plans with Ballister Blackheart.
This book has EXPLOSIONS AND SCIENCE AND SHARKS. And it also has NEMESES AND DRAGONS AND SYMBOLISM. This book was written by Noelle Stevenson.
Copyright 2015. I recommend this book to people who like action and graph novels. I don’t recommend this book to you if you don’t like any of these things.

  15. Darth Vader says:

  16. Darth Vader says:

I am now and Naruto book 43 and the series is still amazing!

  17. Animelover11 says:

Have any of you read Sakura Hime? If you like manga then you will really like this. It’s about Princess Sakura Hime. She is going to get married to someone she never met. She tries to run away but (unfortunately) she looks at the moon. (There is a) monster called the youkaui. It’s trying to kill her because she is the Moon Princess.

  18. Animelover11 says:

I love Sailor Moon. Its a great Anime/Manga. Its interesting and about moon warriors. I love that!!!

  19. SkyHopper2015 says:

Has anyone read the Sailor Moon books? If you like a miracle romance, a little bit of Sci-Fi, action, and drama then this may be the book series for you! I would recommend this for 7th grade and up because there is some mature content such as violence and heavy romance. It is about a teenage girl named Usagi Tsukino who meets a talking black cat who’s name is Luna. Luna tells Usagi that she is the sailor warrior of love and justice, Sailor Moon, who’s mission is to find her 4 other sailor scout companions, find the moon princess and protect her, and to defeat the dark kingdom. I highly recommend it! For those who have read all twelve books, are there any series like Sailor Moon?

  20. Renegade says:

If you are interested in a drama filled, laugh out loud kind of graphic novel, I would recommend Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson. It’s about a girl who tries out for a roller derby team, and some interesting things happen! Check it out, I really recommend it!

  23. Discopie says:

So I just read El Deafo and it was really great. The hole book was just amazing, I never wanted it to end! If you liked smile or other kind of funny, cute, but tragic graphic novels, you should read this.

  24. Discopie says:

Smile is a little gory at the beginning but after that it isn’t pretty much at all. As long as you can make it through a couple bloody pages then Smile is an awesome book.

  25. Discopie says:

I have read Rapunzel’s Revenge. I actually own it and recommend it to anybody who has read Calamity Jack. Do we have both tittles in the library?

    • Mrs. Patterson says:

  26. Discopie says:

Yes, Dork Diaries are awesome. They are cute and very age appropriate.
